Mrs. Stewart's Room 22 Third Grade for the week of Dec. 11-15 Dear Parents of Room 22 Students,
Our holiday party is scheduled for this Thursday from 2:00-2:59. Please contact our room parent, Nachel Meyer, if you'd like to help out or contribute materials. (Thank you, Mrs. Meyer and Mrs. Rasplicka, for planning and arranging our events this year!)
Thank you so much for the Edible Arrangement fruit bouquet that you gave me for my birthday! It was completely delicious, healthy, and beautiful. What a thoughtful present!
The students need to be ready to give their family tradition speeches this Monday, Dec. 11. The students and I are so excited to hear about your family traditions because we are curious (nosy). I can't wait!
In math, we will do two in-class performance tasks and take a benchmark test. The benchmark test will help me see which skills, from the beginning of third grade, need to be retaught. Please continue helping your third grader memorize the multiplication timed tables, as well.
Students are allowed to wear school-appropriate pajamas, along with sneakers, this Friday. We'll be doing some fun activities with our buddy class, as well as practicing math facts, working on a New Year's art project, reading special selections, and playing math games. Even though it's a minimum day, I hope all my students will be at school, ready to learn and have fun.
Looking ahead: We'll be working on a biography speech in class. Students are allowed to do reading and research at home, however. If you wish to take some of your winter break time to check out a library book or do an internet search on a person-of-interest, please do so. The project won't begin until mid-January, but I know that some of you like to know what's coming up.
