Mrs. Stewart's Room 22 Third Grade for the week of October 16-20
Thank you for your continued support of the PTA! We have reached our 100% membership goal, and you can't beat that. Many of you have signed up to help with our classroom booth (for the carnival) as well. If those times won't work for you, please consider helping with the carnival set-up. Volunteers for these positions are always appreciated.
For this week, our new language arts selection will be the realistic fiction selection of "Penguin Chick." This is the perfect story to help readers identify main idea and supporting details. The grammar skill featured this week is identifying common and proper nouns. Our spelling list contains words with the v/cv or vc/v pattern. These words are: finish, pilot, even, wagon, music, silent, rapid, female, lemon, pupil, focus, robot, tulip, camel, and salad. There will be a reading skills and a spelling test this Friday.
In math, we shall finish the first of the multiplication chapters. We have been exploring the properties of multiplication , the connection between multiplication and repeated addition, and how we can use arrays to solve problems. I am planning a test for Thursday.
